So much clean-up! These spots were the ultimate example of “we’ll fix it in post”. There are tons of screen-replacements, paint-jobs and 3D elements composited into these shots. It was a lot of work but I think my team at Almost Gold did an amazing job!

My team at Almost Gold was told to make this leaf blower come across like a jet engine firing up on an aircraft carrier in Top Gun. We took this motivation and ran with it. This spot is completely over the top and I love it.

A lot of people don’t know this but Ace is actually “the place”. Our intention at Almost Gold was to get this message across with photo-real 3D products at the end of their commercials.

McDonald’s actually made a golden shamrock shake for this promotion and gave it away to someone. I’m sure this person immediately had it melted down and sold the raw materials for thousands of dollars. If they didn’t do that and they now have a bejeweled shamrock shake worth thousands of dollars just sitting in their house… well… well I just think that is stupid and I don’t want to be their friend.
That said, my team at Almost Gold worked really hard to blend these practical and CG elements together and we were super happy with the results.

Microsoft came to Almost Gold with a request for a series of cinemagraphs that represented the interactivity of their new line of products. We narrowed down the concept to these executions and started creating 3D environments for our live action arms to live in. We shot the arms using miniature sets to represent the 3D environments and then composited the arms into the shots.

TCU need a hi-quality broadcast spot but the budget was tight. So, they came to Almost Gold and we were able to help them build a beautiful spot that spoke to the school’s evolving brand and culture.

I normally only do work for “A List” clients but when this scrappy little startup called Google came looking for help, I couldn’t resist.
